Ornate gilt frames in the eighteenth-century manner: scrolling foliage, shell crests, ribbon bows at the crown. They are cast in resin rather than carved, which is the sensible way to do this, because resin holds fine detail, stays light on a wall, and takes an antiqued gold finish that sits back into the recesses so the ornament reads as depth rather than glitter. The silhouettes vary between arched, oval and squared with corner flourishes, and they are meant to be hung together.
