Tamburo Travertine Pendant

A plain drum of travertine, cut wide and shallow, hung on a single cord with nothing else to it. The stone is banded, pale cream running through to warm rust in horizontal seams, the way travertine forms, and the open base lets all the light drop straight down. Twenty centimetres across and seven deep, so it sits high and unobtrusive. Over a small dining table or a kitchen counter it does the job of a much larger fitting without occupying the room.
