A tall cone of warm-toned timber, wide at the floor and narrowing to nothing at the top, carrying a broad coolie shade in cream fabric. The proportions are pure mid-century: the shade is deliberately wider than the base, which should look unstable and instead looks confident. Light comes down through the fabric in a warm circle and up over the top onto the ceiling. Beside a bed or an armchair it is a whole corner of a room settled in one object.
