A long oval tray cut from a single piece of stone, with a shallow well and a generous rim.
The stone is warm honey-toned and thoroughly pitted, and the walls are cut thick enough that the tray has real presence on a surface. The inner corners are rounded so nothing gets trapped. It measures 25cm by 12cm.
It takes a bar of soap and a bottle beside a basin, jewellery and a scent bottle on a dressing table, or the small things that come out of pockets by the front door. The shape is soft enough to sit against a wall without looking wedged in.
