Long forged petals of aluminium, each hammered to a fine granular surface and finished in silver or antique gold, arranged around a lit stone core so that they overlap like the leaves of a succulent. The finish is what carries it: the metal is textured rather than polished, so it holds light along its length instead of flashing. Light escapes only through the gaps between the petals, which puts sharp leaf-shaped shadows on the wall behind. Thirty-six centimetres across and fifty deep.
