A plain disc of cream stone lit from behind, held just clear of the wall so a ring of light escapes all the way round. The stone is pale and finely pitted rather than veined, which means it lights evenly: no dark patches, no drama, just a soft round glow that reads more like a window than a lamp. Twenty-eight centimetres across. With the remote it dims low enough to leave on all evening as the only light in a bedroom.
