Low Drum Pendant

A short cylinder of marble, cut straight and left plain, with the light held entirely inside it. Nothing projects, nothing hangs below. The drum simply ends, and the light falls out of the open base onto whatever is beneath. The stone is cream shot with violet and charcoal veining, and lit from within it warms to gold at the thin points. Six centimetres deep and twenty across, it hangs closer to the ceiling than most pendants, which makes it the right answer in a room where headroom is tight.
