A soft, irregular shade in textured cloth, closer to a leaf or a paper parasol than a lampshade, balanced on a tapered wooden column. The cloth is stretched over fine ribs that show faintly through when the lamp is on, and the edge is left uneven, so the silhouette never quite reads as a circle. Light falls downward in a wide, warm circle and the shade itself glows pale from above. It is a very Japanese piece of restraint: one curve, one cone, nothing else.
