A rounded shade of hand-blown coloured glass with a perforated metal cylinder standing inside it, the light source hidden in the core, escaping through hundreds of small holes and then again through the tinted glass. That double filter is what makes it: the glow arrives twice-softened, and the perforated column stays visible as a dark silhouette suspended in the middle of the shade. In amber it reads warm and resinous, in smoke grey almost architectural.
