A rounded lantern of fine woven cane held in a slim black steel cradle, lit from inside so the weave prints itself across the walls and ceiling. The shade is built from hundreds of thin horizontal ribs, close enough to soften the bulb entirely and open enough to let the pattern escape, so the light in the room ends up striped and warm rather than flat. Three heights, from a low table piece to a full standing lamp, and they group well: two or three at different levels read as a single installation.
