A slender branch cast in metal and finished in bright gold, with small birds settled along its length.
The branch is modelled with real bark texture rather than smoothed into an abstraction, and it reaches out horizontally so the piece is much wider than it is tall. A squared black base anchors the whole thing and keeps the gold from floating. The birds are placed unevenly, as they would settle.
This one is unapologetically ornamental. It suits a console, a cabinet top or a wide shelf where there is dark furniture or stone nearby to hold it down.
