Glacier Facet Vase

A rectangular column of glass cut all over in sharp, irregular facets, closer to the surface of a broken crystal than to anything turned on a wheel. Each plane throws light in a different direction, so the piece never looks the same twice: bright and prismatic by a window, deep and shadowed on a dark shelf. The mouth is left ragged, following the same fractured logic as the body. Substantial in the hand, with thick walls and a flat, stable base. It stands up perfectly well empty. If you do fill it, choose something structural such as eucalyptus or dried grasses rather than anything too soft.
