A dark timber ashtray with a lifting lid and a metal bowl seated inside.
The lid sits on a small turned knob and covers the bowl completely when closed, so what is inside stays out of sight and the smell stays down. The timber is cut with clean rests at the edges and finished smooth, and the inner bowl lifts out to be emptied.
It is made to be left out rather than put away. Closed, it reads as a small lidded box. It suits a desk, a balcony table, or a side table beside a chair.
