A wide brim of pale timber, and beneath it a short drum of travertine lit from within. The stone is left open-pored and unpolished, so the light finds every pit and vein on its way out and lands warm rather than white. Nothing is hidden: the brim carries the shade, the flex drops straight, the glow falls in a clean circle below. Hung low over a bedside table it throws just enough light to read by and leaves the rest of the room to the evening.
