Three pieces of marble stacked one on another, a cup, a flattened ring and a shallow dome, with light escaping from the seams between them. Lit from inside, each piece glows through its thinner edges, so the column reads as three separate warm bodies rather than one lamp. Marble is veined by nature, which means no two stacks are figured alike. Hung low over a bedside table or in a run of three above an island, where the stacking reads clearly from below. The fittings are copper, finished in gold.
