Solid wood in a deep stain, cut to a classic stepped moulding with a rounded outer edge. Nothing clever is going on, and that is the appeal. It is the frame you would find in a good study, doing its job without asking for attention. The acrylic front is lighter and safer than glass, and the white mount is generous, which gives even a small print the dignity of a proper gallery hang. The grain shows through the stain rather than being buried under it. Stands on a desk or hangs on a wall, and it goes with everything: oak, brass, linen, other wood.
