Fluted panelling set into a hardwood lid, so what is inside reads as a soft blur of gold until you lift it. Below, a removable tray divided for rings, studs and chains, lined in cream microfibre that stops a clasp from wandering; below that, a second full-depth compartment for the pieces worn less often. The wood is finished warm, with the grain left visible across the lid and sides, and the hinges are brass. It is shallow enough to leave out on a dressing table and considered enough that leaving it out is the point.
